Katy Perry’s 2012 Grammy Performance: Getting Back at Russell Brand? (Watch!)
Katy Perry performed at last night’s Grammy Awards. She appeared sporting some blue hair, in a super-tight spandex suit to her popular song, ‘E.T’. But that song quickly changed into another, less notable song, ‘Part of Me’. And it’s ‘Part of Me’’s lyrics that have us wondering…is this song Katy’s way of getting back at ex-husband Russell Brand for their recent divorce?
The song’s lyrics intensely state:
“You chewed me up and spit me out / Like I was poison in your mouth / You took my light, you drained me down / You ripped me off, your love was cheap.” Last night Katy changed the original lyrics, now singing: “Keep your diamond ring, in fact, you can keep everything – except for me.” (thehollywoodgossip.com)
While we shouldn’t read too much into an artist’s song or compare their own lives to the subject matter, in this case it’s hard not to. Though, Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s divorce apparently ended on good terms, Katy most likely has some pent up emotions to deal with. We just hope she can work through it all!
